PJ Mathematic­s Methods and Content

This is a primary/elementary school-oriented course in mathematics pedagogy for soon-to-be or pre-service teacher candidates.

Curriculum Theory and Developmen­t

This is a graduate level (MEd) course in curriculum theory. It is a survey of the major theories of curriculum that have influenced education in Canada. An outline of the techniques employed in curriculum development, including sources of influence and control, specification of outcomes, selection and coordination of activities, strategies, resources and evaluation.

Teaching and Learning of Mathematic­s

This is a graduate-level course in mathematics teaching and learning. This course will examine research into students' learning and the teaching of mathematics. topics such as the motivational aspects of teaching and learning will be considered, including those related to the topic "Women in Mathematics." Second, specific mathematical topics will be dealt with, selected according to the interests of students.

Environmen­tal Education

A new graduate course to be taught in the 2009-2010 academic year on topics of relevance to ecology and education.
